At least 352,179 residents in Cavite's coastal barangays have been affected by the oil spill from Bataan, according to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) CALABARZON.

Among those affected are 25,145 fishermen who are experiencing daily income losses exceeding P17,000 per day for the last 22 days.

In response to the disaster, the Cavite provincial government has implemented a ‘No Catch’ and ‘No Sell Zone’ for all marine products in the coastal areas under Executive Order No. 38, Series 2024.

As of this writing, the following areas have declared a state of calamity:

  • Cavite City
  • Bacoor City
  • Kawit
  • Noveleta
  • Rosario
  • Tanza
  • Naic
  • Maragondon; and,
  • Ternate

The provincial government has also begun distributing aid to affected residents.
