Floodwaters submerged roads and entered homes in Barangay Anolid, Mangaldan, Pangasinan, after the Payas Creek overflowed due to the effects of the southwest monsoon.

The water reached two to three inches in some areas, and kneep-deep in others.

Residents in low-lying areas, especially those near farmlands and creeks, watch floodwaters enter their homes.

"Hanggang dito sa tuhod... ’yung mga damit ko basa lahat," Josefa Reside, a resident, said.

Authorities, however, described the situation in Barangay Anolid as an isolated case.

According to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), the water accumulated because there was no outlet for it to drain through.

"Isa ito sa dahilan kaya hindi makaagos ‘yung tubig papunta sa Sinucalan River kasi itong imburnal medyo nakakabara," Rodolfo Corla, the Mangaldan MDRRM Officer, said.

The MDRRMO advised residents to stay prepared in case preemptive evacuation becomes necessary.
