The number of dengue cases in Tagum City, Davao del Norte has gone up with three reported deaths, so far, in 2024.

In a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, the City Health Office said the latest fatality was a nine-year-old girl from Barangay Magugpo South.

From January to July 2024, dengue cases have reached 933. Of this number, 53 are new cases.

Most of those who contracted the disease are from Barangays Visayan Village, Mankilam, and Apokon.

With more rains experienced during the monsoon season, health authorities reminded the public anew to practice the 5S strategy against dengue: Search and destroy mosquito breeding sites; self-protection from mosquite bites; seek early medical consultation; support fogging in hot spot areas; and sustain hydration.
