Up to 153 families were displaced after a fire razed more than 40 houses in Pagadian City.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Pagadian City, the fire broke out past 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, and was raised to third alarm.

BFP-Pagadian City said the fire spread to houses nearby quickly as most of the houses were made of light materials.

Firefighters also had difficulty penetrating the area because the road is narrow.

The fire was put out at around 11 p.m. and damage was estimated at P700,000.

No one was reported hurt in the incident.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
