The combined effects of the Southwest Monsoon and #CarinaPH have caused extensive flooding, landslides, and other incidents across several regions in Luzon, affecting over 233,000 people, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

As of 8 a.m. on July 25, 2024, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported numerous incidents in the following regions:

Region 1, reported one landslide, eight receding flooded areas, and two maritime accidents. 

Region 2 reported one flooded area and 10 receding flooded areas. 

Region 3 experienced 202 flooded areas and 22 subsided flooded areas. 

CALABARZON faced three landslides, 31 flooded areas, two subsided flooded areas, seven receding flooded areas, three collapsed structures, and two toppled trees.

MIMAROPA had 34 flooded areas, 47 subsided flooded areas, and one receding flooded area.

A total of 233,240 people were affected, with 6,538 individuals seeking refuge in 497 evacuation centers across Luzon. 

At least five deaths have been reported in CALABARZON, pending validation by the NDRRMC.

Infrastructure has also been impacted, with 37 roads and seven bridges remaining impassable.

At least 17 domestic flights and one international flight were canceled.

Maritime operations have been severely disrupted, with 19 seaports affected and 18 still non-operational or with canceled trips.

A total of 246 passengers, 140 from CALABARZON and 106 from Region 5, along with 19 rolling cargoes, nine vessels, and five motorbancas, remain stranded.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has released Family Food Packs (FFPs) to affected regions:

  • Central Luzon: 171,467 FFPs
  • CALABARZON: 90,957 FFPs
  • MIMAROPA: 38,766 FFPs
  • Bicol: 20,000 FFPs

The FFPs have been pre-positioned at DSWD Field Offices and are being delivered to local government units (LGUs) for distribution.
