Authorities found two human skeletons in Barangay Molosbolos, Libon, Albay, believed to be those connected to the Concepcion Criminal Group.

The skeletons were found following a coordinated search effort by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Bicol and other agencies.

The skeletons did not have skulls.

Initial investigation identified one of the victims as Noel Castro from Bato, Camarines Sur, who went missing on March 15, 2021.

Castro was seen last heading to Polangui to visit a brother who was imprisoned there.

He was identified by his family based on his clothing.

"Marauton po ang boot ko ta mayo man talaga kalaban-laban si Suka ta talagang igwa po itong diperensya, PWD po adto," Castro's mother said.

According to Atty. Felipe Jessie Jimenez, an NBI Bicol agent, Castro was allegedly targeted by the group due to his suspected role as an informant.

"Napagdu-dahan itong ahente ng gobyerno o informant, iginapos ito'y base sa nakita ng ating witness... and then dinala sa isang masukal na lugar, nakita ng witness natin mismo na pinugutan," Jimenez said.

The NBI said investigation is ongoing to identify those responsible for the crimes.

"May mga information [kami] na gumagalaw parin yung ibang [miyembro ng] grupo na natitira, pero sa ngayon ay dini-determine namin kung talagang malakas pa ang pwersa nil," Atty. Claro De Castro Jr., NBI Bicol Regional Director, said.

The skeletons were taken to a cemetery and will undergo DNA testing.

The NBI expects to find more remains of people linked to the Concepcion Criminal Group in the area.

Gilbert Concepcion, the alleged leader of the group, was killed in an armed encounter during the service of a warrant arrest in Manila in January 2024.
