Authorities rescued six fishermen after the boat they were riding capsized off Balut Island in Davao Occidental.
Members of the Coast Guard Station Davao Occidental and Coast Guard Sea Marshall Unit found the fishermen standing on their boat that capsized after getting battered by strong winds and huge waves.
The fishermen were brought to the Mabila Port in Sarangani Island and were checked at a health center.
Authorities reminded fishermen not to sail when weather conditions are unfavorable.
In this case, the bad weather was caused by the southwest monsoon intensified by #CarinaPH.
