Two people were arrested in simultaneous operations in Iligan City for allegedly pimping their minor relatives online.

The suspects were arrested by virtue of a warrant to search, seize, and examine computer data (WSSECD). Various paraphernalia used in the commission of the crime were confiscated.

Police said that based on records, one of the suspects is a woman who allegedly peddled her own children online.

Two other suspects remain at large, as of this writing.

During the raid, the six minors – 17, 16, eight, five, four, and two years old – were rescued and turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) for intervention.

Authorities said the suspects allegedly induced the minors to engage in online sexual activities with foreigners in exchange for money.

The suspects are now detained and are facing charges for violation of the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM).

The operation was carried out by the Iligan City Police Office (ICPO) OSAEC Task Force and other police units in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

“This successful rescue and apprehension demonstrate our unwavering commitment to protecting vulnerable children from online sexual abuse and exploitation. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of our children,” Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) Director, Brigadier General Ricardo Layug Jr., said.
