Heavy rains from the Southwest Monsoon, intensified by #CarinaPH, have caused multiple landslides and power disruptions in Baguio City.
As of 12 noon of July 24, 2024, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) reported 12 landslides, four incidents of fallen trees or branches, three clogged drainage systems, and eight electrical issues, including sparking wires and blown transformers.
Authorities are actively coordinating with other agencies to manage the situation and ensure residents' safety.
A road clearing operation was conducted at Barangay Camp 7 on Kennon Road due to fallen rocks at around 10 a.m..
Kennon Road remains closed to all vehicles except residents of Camp 7 and Camp 6, as of this writing.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution and follow safety advisories when traveling in the area.
Baguio City Police Office urged residents to stay informed through official channels for updates on road conditions and safety measures.
