Up to 327 residents from five towns in Cagayan Province have been affected by floods due to typhoon Carina. 

Of the 327, at least 132 residents from four towns were evacuated.

Sta. Teresita = 195 affected
Sta. Ana = 31 affected and evacuated
Gonzaga = 72 affected and evacuated
Sta. Praxedes = 9 affected and evacuated
Peñablanca = 20 affected and evacuated

On July 23, 2024, continuous rains flooded four barangays in Sta. Teresita. The areas affected include Zone 7 of Barangay Caniugan, Zone 1 of Barangay Centro West, Zone 1 of Barangay Simbaluca, and Purok Namnama of Barangay Simpatuyo.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Sta. Teresita continues to monitor the situation actively to ensure the safety of residents.

In Sta. Ana, 11 families (31 people) took shelter at evacuation centers while eight families (38 people) stayed with relatives.

In Sta. Praxedes, three families (nine people) were evacuated due to landslide risks. 

The families who were evacuated In Peñablanca returned home after the flood subsided. 

Local authorities and emergency teams, including the Task Force Lingkod Cagayan-Quick Response Team (TFLC-QRT), continue to monitor and provide assistance.

ROADS

As of July 24, the following roads and bridges are accessible:

Passable to all vehicles: Natallag Overflow Bridge (Peñablanca), Bagunot Bridge (Baggao), Taytay-San Isidro (Baggao), Farm to Market Road and Bridge at Sitio Laoc (Gonzaga).

Passable to light vehicles: Tamucco-Balagan-Abariongan Ruar Road (Sto. Niño).

One-lane passable: Nueva Vizcaya-Pangasinan Road (Brgy. Imugan, Sta. Fe).

Meanwhile, not passable, as of this writing, is the detour Bridge in Barangay Fusina (Lal-lo) and Camalanuigan.

Authorities advised residents to stay updated on weather conditions and road accessibility.
