The Department of Agriculture-Davao (DA-11) said there is no shortage of rice supply in Davao City, contrary to reports that spread on social media.

According to the National Plant Quarantine Services, around 3,465 metric tons or 69,300 bags with each bag weighing 50 kilos have arrived at the Port of Davao.

The delay of the delivery was reportedly due to the bad weather.

The National Food Authority-Davao (NFA-11) also confirmed that the buffer stock of rice is still sufficient.

No movement of the prices of rice was monitored.

The Facebook post that said the supply of rice in Davao City is no longer enough has already been deleted.

DA-11 urged the public not to post unverified information on social media to avoid panic among the public.
