A 55-year-old woman in Baguio City was arrested after she allegedly severed her husband's genitals using a knife. 

The alleged motive is jealousy. The husband, 58,is now recovering in a hospital.

The incident happened on July 7, 2024.

Based on police investigation, the couple were drinking together when the wife allegedly suddenly accused her husband of infidelity.

Despite a heated argument, they ended up getting intimate. Later, the husband experienced pain. It turned out that his wife had cut his genitals off with a knife. 

The man was rushed to the hospital and underwent emergency surgery.

The wife reportedly admitted to police that she became jealous because of her husband’s alleged infidelity, and that intoxication pushed her to take action. 

"Allegedly, ang rason po ay dahil sa selos. Itong kanyang asawa ay nambababae… nabanggit din niya na matagal na rin siyang sinasaktan," PMAJ. Harriet Bulcio, spokesperson of the Baguio City Police Office, said.

The woman is now detained at the Baguio City Jail and is facing charges for mutilation under Article 262 of the Revised Penal Code.
