The mother of the two boys found dead in an abandoned car in Sto. Tomas, Pampanga will be the subject of investigation for possible negligence.

According to the police, the children struggled inside the car before they died, as evidenced by handprints on the windows, indicating desperate attempts to escape.

Among the aspects being investigated is potential negligence on the part of the mother.

"Posible ‘yun, may batas tayo na nagpoprotekta sa mga bata gaya ng child abuse... kami ang maga-file or yung sa mga kamag-anak,” PCPT. Jester Calis, Chief of Sto. Tomas Police Station, said.

The boys, five and six years old, were found dead inside the abandoned car afternoon on July 8, 2024.

Their father refuses to believe his sons entered the car voluntarily.

"Hindi ako naniniwala na pumasok ang mga anak ko sa kotse kasi sa CCTV, hindi naman makikitang pumasok sila doon," he said.

Adding to his suspicions is the fact that only one slipper of his eldest son was found inside the car, while a pair belonging to his youngest son was found outside, with one slipper missing.

Almario said the skin of one of his children appeared discolored and the younger boy’s clothes were torn.

Authorities clarified that two pairs of slippers were found at the scene, and one was being worn by one child when they were removed from the car. Meanwhile, the skin discoloration was attributed to postmortem changes and that the child's clothing was cut during autopsy.

The father described his children as loving, lively, and good kids. The mother declined to comment.

The two boys will be buried afternoon on July 11.
