Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation-Southeastern Mindanao Regional Office (NBI-SEMRO) have arrested three people in an entrapment operation for allegedly selling fake essential oils in Davao City.

The operation stemmed from a complaint filed by a pharmaceutical company against a firm in Davao City for alleged violation of the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines (RA 8293).

According to the NBI, the said firm is illegally distributing and selling products using the registered mark on the products of the pharmaceutical company, based on the information it received.

The result of the test buys and laboratory analysis on the alleged fake products showed the products failing in odor, specific gravity, and assay, the NBI said.

The individuals arrested have undergone inquest proceedings before the City Prosecutor’s Office.
