The local government of Zamboanga City has started serving cease and desist orders to 18 gas stations found to be operating without business permits.
Personnel of the Business Permits and Licensing Division started serving the order to gas stations in Barangays Sangali and Bolong on July 4, 2024.
According to the Licensing Office, 18 of the 48 gas stations in the city were found to be operating illegally, which is a violation of the city ordinance and other laws. These establishments reportedly continued to operate despite prior notices.
With the stoppage order, owners of these establishments will be forced to cease operation until they secure the necessary permits.
The local government said failure to do so will result to penalties and other legal consequences.
