The body of a 52-year-old fisherman was found in the shallow part of the Wawa River in Nasugbu, Batangas.

According to the Coast Guard, the victim was last seen by his companions afternoon on July 1, 2024.

The victim’s companions told authorities that they parted ways around 4 p.m.

The Nasugbu Coast Guard suspects the victim might have gone to the river on his way home.

The victim’s remains have been brought home.

The Nasugbu Coast Guard said they are intensifying patrols in coastal areas to remind residents and fishermen to avoid similar incidents, especially before the onset of the southwest monsoon.
