The Bureau of Local Government Finance-Northern Mindanao (BLGF-10) has said that displaying the Philippine flag upside down at its office in Cagayan de Oro was an ‘honest mistake.’
A photo of the flag, which was posted by a netizen, made the rounds on social media.
BLGF-10 officials refused to face the camera but said what happened was unintentional.
They said their liaison officer who has a disability may not have noticed the flag was positioned upside down when it was raised up the pole.
The flag was taken down immediately.
BLGF-10 called on the public to refrain from spreading false information and speculations so as not to cause panic.
