A 46-year-old woman was shot dead in Padre Garcia, Batangas by an unidentified suspect riding a motorcycle.
The woman was originally from Carmona, Cavite but moved to Barangay San Felipe in Padre Garcia.
The victim’s family told the police that the woman was on her way to the chapel when she was shot.
Police suspect that the shooting may be related to a shooting incident involving the victim's spouse in 2019.
"Maganda naman po ‘yung lead kasi sole suspect... tinitingnan pa nga lang namin ngayon ay ‘yung pagkamatay ng asawa niya noong 2019, and then naghi-hearing pa sila ngayon, so ‘yun ang aming tinitingnan. May lead na kami, hindi pa lang mai-[release dahil] kailangan pa namin ng confirmation," PCPT. Ramil Malipol, Deputy Chief of Padre Garcia Police Station, said.
The victim was rushed to the hospital but passed away later. She sustained four gunshot wounds from a .45 caliber firearm in various parts of her body.
Police investigation continues, as of this writing.
"Continuous follow-up operation pa kami at hindi pa lang kami makapagbigay ng aming suspect kasi ongoing pa nga [pero] may lead naman kami," Malipol said.
