A 34-year-old man died while his 62-year-old father was hospitalized after they were electrocuted while repairing a broken well in Barangay Garreta, Pidigan, Abra.

The deceased victim was identified as Jonathan Abero, while his father was identified as Ricardo Abero.

Their companion, Rex Pineda, survived the accident.

Pineda said they were fixing a neighbor's broken well when part of a tube they were working with touched the electric line accidentally.

All three men were holding the tube when the incident occurred.

Henedina Macaranas, the owner of the well, was shocked by what happened. She said she warned them against touching the electric lines.

Jemelyn Abero, Jonathan's wife, said she was shocked when she heard shouts just meters away from their home, accompanied by a power outage.

Jonathan left behind seven children, the youngest of whom is only three weeks old.

The Abero family is appealing for assistance.
