A motorcycle rider was killed while his companion was wounded in a shootout with a policeman who saw them shooting another man to death in Barangay Talon-Talon, Zamboanga City.
The policeman who was heading home on board his motorcycle witnessed the suspects shot dead a 38-year-old man.
He chased the suspects who fled after the incident and a shootout ensued, resulting in the death of the rider and the wounding of the gunman who was riding in pillion.
The wounded gunman was arrested and brought to the hospital. He did not give a statement.
Investigators said the shooting incident may be linked to illegal drugs.
