With the return of the rainy season, the local government of Davao City is putting up more devices that can warn residents during disasters.

The Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) installed more sirens and river and coastal cameras to alert residents in the event of flood or high sea water level.

Baloran said the new devices will help CDRRMO monitor the river and coastal areas, especially that the city is experiencing flooding in recent weeks due to localized thunderstorms.

The additional city-wide sirens are being installed near the Matina River and in Barangay 5-A near the mouth of the river.

Installation of coastal cameras in Barangay 76-A is also ongoing to monitor the sea and surrounding areas.
