A swarm of crablets moving toward the sea was caught on video in Gubat, Sorsogon.
"Akala ko yung tamang madami lang, ta[pos] nung pumunta ako sa pampang ang dami-dami talaga nila para silang langgam na nag-uumpukan," Ivy Fiona Jocom, the one who captured the video, said.
Due to the sheer number of tiny crabs, some have already burrowed into the sand along the shore.
According to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Bicol, the presence of numerous crablets along the coast is normal, especially during breeding season.
"Actually po base duman sa video it’s normal. Kung dae [ako] napapasala sa pag identify ang local term daa kaiyan is ‘kalasakas,'" Rowena Briones, Spokesperson of BFAR Bicol, said.
BFAR urged the public to leave the crablets undisturbed and avoid catching them if they encounter similar sightings.
