A security guard in Camarines Norte was praised for his honesty after he returned a bag containing P1 million in cash.
The guard, Salvador Mirandilla, found the bag reportedly left behind by a fellow passenger on a passenger bus headed to Daet, Camarines Norte from Manila.
When Mirandilla opened the bag, he found it contained P1 million.
Mirandilla took the bag home and called the phone number he found inside the bag. Once he confirmed the identity of the bag's owner, he brought the bag to the owner's home personally.
The grateful owner gave Mirandilla money as a token of appreciation.
This was not the first time Mirandilla has returned money that was lost.
“Nakita ko po kung gaano kahirap [makuha] yung pera, kaya dapat pahalagahan; and then kung sabi nga pinaghirapan ko din, so yung iba naghihirap din sila para makuha nila yung isang bagay, so sabi ko nga dun sa prinsipyo ko, yung pera na pinaghirapan nila dapat makabalik sa kanila," Mirandilla said.
