The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Northern Mindanao (PDEA-10) destroyed more than P4.5 million worth of dangerous drugs on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

PDEA-10 said these illegal substances were seized during operations and turned over to the agency from different courts and other law enforcement agencies in the region.

The dangerous drugs include of 5,676 grams of marijuana fruiting tops worth P681,131; 4,547 grams of marijuana dried leaves worth P545,716; 7,175.8 grams of marijuana plants worth P861,099; 2.6863 grams of marijuana seeds worth P322; and 361.56 grams of shabu worth P2,458,660.

PDEA-10 also disposed of drugs that have expired at hospitals and pharmacies in the region.

“As we eradicated these harmful substances, we reaffirmed our unwavering commitment to dismantling organized drug networks and protecting our society,” PDEA-10 said.

The Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) said the dangerous drugs were seized from June 2023 to May 2024, and are no longer needed as evidence.

PRO-10 Director, Brigadier General Ricardo Layug Jr., said collaborative effort is important in ensuring a peaceful and drug-free region.

“Rest assured that PRO10, in coordination with the PDEA and other law enforcement agencies, will continue to pursue organized drug personalities in the region. Let us remain vigilant, proactive, and united in our efforts to create a drug-free community,” Layug said.
