The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) has recorded three weak phreatic eruptions at Taal Volcano.
At least two eruptions occurred on May 15, 2024 with each eruption lasting for about two to five minutes.
Four volcanic earthquakes were also detected by PHIVOLCS.
Another weak phreatic eruption was logged by PHIVOLCS on May 16, at 8:45 a.m., lasting for three minutes.
No volcanic smog or vog was observed around the volcano.
According to PHIVOLCS, more phreatic bursts are expected due to the continuous emission of hot volcanic gasses.
They said there is no immediate cause for concern.
Access to the Taal Volcano Island remains prohibited.
