The Davao De Oro Provincial Police Office said three of four people killed in Pantukan and Maco towns in Davao de Oro were allegedly involved in illegal drug activities.
Based on initial investigation, the three were listed as drug personalities in the past years.
Davao De Oro Provincial Police Office Public Information Officer, Captain Jusibelle Abellon, said investigators are looking into personal grudge at their workplace as possible motive in the killing.
Police said the four men were shot dead in the two towns on May 13, 2024.
Three of the victims were identified only as a 40-year-old chainsaw operator; a 37-year-old miner; and a resident of Mabini, Pantukan. The fourth has yet to be identified, as of this writing.
Those who have knowledge about the incidents are urged to come forward and help solve the cases.
The Provincial Police Office also assured the public that authorities are on top of the peace and order situation in the province.
Abellon said the safety of the public remains to be the police’s top priority. Police visibility in the province has been beefed up so that cops can respond to crimes quickly.
