A common-law couple who flew to Davao City to watch a concert was found dead at a condominium on Sunday, April 21, 2024.

The man was believed to have fallen to the ground floor from the sixth floor while the woman was found lifeless inside a room at the third floor. Both sustained stab wounds. 

Authorities said the two have been living together for eight years. The man was from Paranaque City while the woman was from Bacoor, Cavite.

The woman flew to Davao City first morning on Saturday, April 20, 2024, and man followed in the afternoon. The two reportedly booked a unit at the condominium.

Police said the belongings of the two were intact, but they found a knife inside the room.

“Based sa evidence at mga gamit in tact ang mga gamit nila pati pera and the IDs doon sa room then we found out may kutsilyo, may dugo we believe before the incident nagsama sila sa isang room,” Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Director, Colonel Richard Bad-ang, said.

Investigators said the killing may be a crime of passion and are now looking at a third party involvement.

“One of the motives that we are looking at is the crime of passion and anger isa. Why is it ang lalaki may stab wounds kung nahulog man siya didto sa 6th floor kasi may nakitang finger print at may nakitang bakas ng dugo it seems nandon siya nahulog however yung paakyat sa 6th floor from the room wala kang makikitang traces ng dugo it seems may gumawa ng krimen binuhat ang lalaki at hinulog doon sa baba,” Bad-ang added.

Two persons of interest who may have a hand in the killing were identified. One of the two already faced authorities on Monday, April 22, 2024. 

Investigation into the incident continues, as of this writing.
