Three family members died after they were trapped inside their burning home in Barangay Baybay Lopez, Binmaley, Pangasinan.
According to the Binmaley Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the bodies of the victims were found in one of the rooms.
While the exact cause remains unclear, at least as of this posting, authorities suspect the fire may have been ignited by burning trash.
"Yung iimbestigahan namin kung saan nagsimula ‘yung sunog at yung cost of damages," FO1 Denissa Vinluan, the Public Information Officer of Binmaley Fire Station, said.
It took firefighters an hour to extinguish the blaze, which also affected three adjacent structures.
BANI, PANGASINAN
Meanwhile, in Barangay Poblacion, Bani, Pangasinan, two floors of a residential house were also razed by fire.
It took over 30 minutes before authorities placed the fire under control.
Initial investigation pointed to faulty electrical wiring as a possible cause.
No injury was reported.
NUEVA ECIJA
In Barangay Poblacion, General Mamerto Natividad, Nueva Ecija, a building where charcoal was being stored caught fire.
Firefighters said the fire spread rapidly due to the presence of charcoal. Cigarette butts found near the area are being considered as possible causes.
"Yung involved is storage building siya, where in yung laman niya is uling. Para siyang naging stock room or stock area ng uling na ginagamit sa business. ‘Yung business kasi nung may-ari is ihawan," FInsp. Maria Therese Padre, the Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, said.
No injury was also reported but a motorcycle was affected.
Damage from the fire was pegged at P25,000.
