A 26-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly fired his gun in Barangay Bolo, Bauan, Batangas.
The Bauan Police Station received the report from a concerned citizen.
Police found the suspect outside his residence, shirtless, with a firearm tucked into his waistband.
Two individuals were caught using illegal drugs inside the suspect's house. Police confiscated three packets of suspected shabu weighing over 35 grams, two lighters, a glass water pipe, and a piece of aluminum foil.
"Yung suspect number one, nasa labas po ng kaniyang bahay at nakahubad po ang damit at nakalagay po ang kaniyang baril sa baywang. Then nung ma-approach po ng ating kapulisan ay bukas po ang pintuan ng kanilang bahay at doon naman po nakita nag nag-Infagrante Delictu na gumagamit po [sila] ng ipinagbabawal na droga," PMAJ. Allan Nidua, Deputy Chief of the Bauan Police Station, said.
Police suspect that the suspect may have been under the influence of illegal drugs when he fired his gun.
No one was harmed.
As of this writing, the suspects are detained at the custodial facility of the Bauan PNP, facing multiple charges.
"Sila po'y nahaharap sa kasong paglabag sa RA 10591, Alarms and Scandal, Illegal Discharge of Firearms at 'yun pong Violation po ng Section 11 Section 12 and Section 15 ng Republic Act 9165," Nidua said.
Authorities are investigating whether the suspect possesses a valid license for the firearm.
Nidua expressed gratitude to the residents of Barangay Bolo for their timely coordination with the police.
"Kami po ay nagpapasalamat sa residente po ng Barangay Bolo, Bauan, Batangas dahil sa kanilang timely coordination sa kapulisan, [dahil sa] timely response naman ng kapulisan ay na-apprehend sa mga suspects na maaaring magdulot sa kanila ng sakuna," he said.
"Iwasan po ang paggamit ng iligal na droga lalong-lalo na po ang pagbebenta dahil ito po'y walang mabuting maidudulot sa ating mga mamamamayan lalo na po sa mga kabataan," he added.
