A local rapper/singer in Cebu was arrested for shooting an American national outside a bar at a hotel in Cebu City early morning on Sunday, March 17, 2024.

The incident was captured on CCTV.

Personnel of the Mabolo Police Station arrested the suspect who said he shot the foreigner for alleged obscene behavior toward women-clients of the bar. He said the women are his friends.

"Katong foreigner sir, namastos man gud siya og mga kauban namo, ug mga friend namo. Namastos siya sa mga babaye, nanghikap og lubot unya amo na gi ingna nga ayaw pag-ingana unya dili man siya patoo sir. Unya gibastos ba niya ang among ubang kaubang babaye, unya nambastos siya mao tong akong nabuhat sir," he said.

The suspect answered a few questions from members of the media but refused to elaborate on the details if he was at the scene when the foreigner allegedly behaved in an obscene manner toward the women.

He further refused to answer if he owns the gun used in the shooting incident.

The hot pursuit operation of the Mabolo Police, led by Major Romeo Caacoy Jr., was launched immediately after the rapper’s identity was established through a CCTV footage.

The rapper was arrested at his manager's house in Barangay Quiot in Cebu City. He is facing charges for frustrated murder and illegal possession of firearms.
