A 21-year-old college student was shot dead in Cotabato City with the suspect not bothering to hide his face. Police said the shooting might have been triggered by deep anger.

The victim, Michael Mangalumas, was on his way home from church when he was shot in Barangay Rosary Heights 5. He succumbed to four gunshot wounds in different parts of his body.

Authorities are hopeful the suspect will be arrested immediately as he was seen on CCTV camera on board a motorcycle.

Police said deep anger or personal grudge might have triggered the killing, considering that the suspect never bothered to hide his face. He did not even wear a hat.

“Hindi lang man nagsuot ng sombrero, hindi lang man nag-mask, so more on, parang galit eh. Galit na galit itong gunman sa biktima. Ang importante din po ditto, nahagip siya ng CCTV at lalo pang pinalinaw kasi pina-enhance po natin sa RACU-BAR,” said Cotabato City Police Office Director, Col. Querubin Manalang, Jr.

Content in the victim's phone that they have gone through reportedly do not indicate that the victim had enemies.

“Yung cellphone niya, nasa kamay ng station 2 at chine-check doon, may conversation doon pero wala namang kaaway,” Manalang said.

The school where the victim went has called for justice for its former student.
