A third year college student was found dead by the river in Barangay Balangobong, Lingayen, Pangasinan naked from the waist down. 

The student was 21 years old.

While the police will seek concrete evidence to the crimes committed, the suspect has admitted to the crimes.

"Nag-request tayo sa PNP SOCO to determine if there an instances na ni-rape ang bata but primarily, ‘yan ang unang-unang motibo ng suspek na rape ang biktima," PLTCOL. Vicente Castor, Jr., Chief of Lingayen Police Station, said.

The police arrested the 32-year-old suspect with the help of witnesses. The suspect reportedly admitted to stranging and raping the victim at an empty lot.

"Naawa ako sa kanila, para sa anak nila. Nakainom lang ako… totoo ba na pinatay mo siya, sinakal ko po," the suspect said.

Authorities brought the suspect to the crime scene where he traced the location of some of the victim's belongings.

The local government condemned the crimes, emphasizing that criminals have no place in their community.

"Gusto kong ipahayag na dito sa Lingayen, hindi namin [pa]palagpasin ang pangyayaring ito. Itong suspek na ito [ay] mananagot sa ngalan ng batas," Mayor Leopoldo Bataoil said.

The police said the case is now considered closed.
