A fire broke out and spread to up to eight hectares in Mount Kalugong in Barangay Tawang, La Trinidad, Benguet midday on March 10, 2024.
The fire hit a remote area of Mount Kalugong, which made it difficult for the La Trinidad Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) to respond quickly, said Fire Senior Inspector Melchor Medes, Fire Marshal of La Trinidad.
The fire was placed under control hours later at 9:25 p.m. No one was hurt and no structure was damaged in the incident.
As of this writing, authorities are still investigating its cause.
