Another brick of suspected cocaine was washed ashore in Surigao, this time in the town of Burgos in Surigao del Norte. The brick costs an estimated P5.7 million.

Police said two minors and two men found the brick along the shore in Barangay Bitaug.

The brick weighs 1.08 kilos.

Police Regional Office-Caraga (PRO-13) Director, Brigadier General Kirby John Kraft, lauded the four residents for reporting the discovery of the brick of cocaine, which was then turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit-13 for further examination.

“I commend the vigilance of our residents and their immediate coordination with our police unit. The discovery of this dangerous drug saves a large number of people from becoming victims of substance abuse,” Kraft said.

Authorities are investigating where the brick could have come from.

On March 2, 2024, two fishermen found a brick of cocaine while fishing in Tandag City, Surigao del Sur.
