The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Bicol has once again recovered human remains believed to be those of victims of the Concepcion criminal group.
The remains were found in Sitio Pinaric, Barangay Molosbolos, Libon, Albay.
Earlier in February, three skeletal remains were recovered in Sitio Tagbac, Barangay Macabugos.
The three remains are believed to be those of the alleged victims of the Concepcion Criminal Group who were reported missing on December 27, 2022.
According to the NBI, their asset provided information about an area where a person's body was reportedly dumped, which led to the operation on March 6, 2024.
Authorities responded immediately and a skull with a hole was identified as having connection to a victim. Also found at the scene were the victim's underwear, slippers, and a pair of gloves.
As of this writing, investigation is ongoing to verify if the remains belong to an ice drop vendor who went missing in 2022.
The remains were brought to a public cemetery in Libon.
"Since June 2022, pang sampo na po ito [na kalansay]... kailangan po natin idaan sa DNA tapos yung relative niya lumapit sa amin, iko-compare po natin, dun natin ma-acertail kung sino talaga siya," Atty. Felipe Jessie Jimenez, the agent-on-case from NBI Bicol, said.
