From Alert Level 2, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) has lowered the status of Mayon Volcano to Alert Level 1.
This decision is based on the decrease in the number of recorded volcanic earthquakes, a declining trend in volcanic gas emissions, and observed ground deformation showing swelling.
As of this writing, the volcano exhibits no significant signs of magma intrusion, and there is no visible glow at the crater.
Despite the lowered alert level, the public is advised to remain vigilant for potential changes in volcanic activity.
The six-kilometer permanent danger zone is still in effect.
