Koronadal City has offered a P500,000 reward for information that can lead to the arrest of those who robbed a pawnshop in broad daylight on February 21, 2024.
Police said the incident was caught on CCTV camera.
In the video footage, two suspects wearing the police’s athletic uniform entered the establishment. One was bringing a long firearm.
Later, two other suspects disarmed the security guards and two more suspects followed and destroyed the glass shelves where jewelry items are displayed.
Minutes later, the six suspects went out carrying a bag and fled the area.
Police said that based on the security guard’s account, the suspects pretended to serve an arrest warrant against one of the employees of the pawnshop, which was why two of them wore a police uniform.
Investigators said the two suspects in police uniform are not members of the PNP.
During a follow-up operation, the suspected belongings of the suspects, including one of the motorcycles, used were found abandoned beside the road in Barangay Saravia.
The amount of the jewelry items carted away by the suspect has yet to be determined.
Last 2014, a robbery incident happened in the same pawnshop, leaving two security guards dead.
