The Zamboanga City government has formed a committee to investigate the alleged sex video scandal involving two City Hall employees.

An executive order was issued creating a committee on decorum and investigation to conduct the probe.

The sex video scandal, which made the rounds on social media, allegedly involved a job order employee and someone who holds a position at City Hall.

One of the people involved in the video allegedly elicited sexual favors in exchange of promoting the other to a regular position.

The city government considers this as sexual harassment.

The City Council backed the move to investigate the matter.

“I would like also to appeal to the public to stop sharing the post, this is not only traumatic to the victim, it is also traumatic to the family as well, as well as the community,” Councilor Lilibeth Nuno said.

The legislative body also mulls requesting the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to conduct a parallel probe.

“We would also pass a second resolution later on requesting the National Bureau of Investigation to conduct a parallel, a partial investigation to the issue,” Councilor Charlie Mariano said.

The local government has yet to identify the alleged sexual offender as the victim on the video has yet to file a formal complaint.

The alleged offender may face sexual harassment charges and possible dismissal from service.

“There is no basis yet for the suspension. Unless we receive the complaint because until now we do not know the actual person or actual respondents,” City Administrator, Atty. Wendel Sotto, said.

The local government also urged other victims to come forward and lodge a complaint before the committee.

“We are calling on and encouraging other victims kung meron pa mga biktima ng sexual harassment to approach any member of the committee and file a complaint,” City Hall Spokesperson, Lisa Jocson, said.
