At least 23 barangays in Davao City were placed under a state of calamity due to the effects of massive flooding and landslides.

The declaration was based on the resolution passed by the city’s legislative body.

These barangays are Lasang, San Isidro, Bunawan Proper, Matina Crossing, Ma-a, Tigatto, Waan, New Carmen, Tambobong, 1-A, 2-A, 5-A, 8-A, 9-A, 10-A, and 19-B including the seven landslide-hit barangays of Marilog Proper, Salaysay, Tamugan, Lamanan, Saloy, Malabog, and Paquiabato Proper.

The city council also approved the utilization of P84 million quick response fund under the calamity fund. The city government has allocated a total of P188 million for the quick response fund.

According to the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), more than 38,000 families were affected by severe flooding while 338 families were affected by landslides.
