Authorities have arrested three people and confiscated alleged smuggled cigarettes estimated to be worth P2.7 million in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao Del Norte.
Police were conducting an intelligence-driven operation when they intercepted a wing van loaded with boxes of assorted cigarettes during security inspection.
The arrested suspects and the confiscated items were brought to Sultan Kudarat Municipal Police Station.
“The Regional Director reiterates that PRO BAR's commitment to combating illegal activities remains steadfast, and operations will continue to prevent the proliferation of contraband within the Bangsamoro communities,” the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PRO-BARMM) said.
