At least two helicopters were deployed to help combat the fire that hit a portion of a mountain in Barangay Dalupirip, Itogon, Benguet.
Two Super Huey helicopters from the 505th Search and Rescue Group of the Philippine Air Force equipped with Bambi buckets have dumped water in the area affected to contain the blaze, which broke out on January 27, 2024.
The Philippine Air Force is working with the Office of Civil Defense-CAR and the Bureau of Fire Protection to carry out the operation.
The wildfire has spread to approximately 12 hectares and authorities are investigating the possible cause, as of this writing.
