<p>A Blainville's Beaked Whale was found dead along the shore near a beach resort in Bulusan, Sorsogon.</p><p>The whale was spotted by a local fisherman, Antonio Borsigu, morning on January 25, 2024. He then reported the find to authorities.</p><p>The whale had wounds in its body and mouth, which it may have sustained when it was stranded in shallow waters. </p><p>Balainville's Beaked Whales are considered a rare species and are not seen commonly in the area.</p><p>Representatives from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) will study the whale.</p>
