The case for unjust vexation against two Engineering students in Cebu City was dismissed by the court.
The two students were arrested last January 21, 2024 after they were found to have taken a photograph extending a dirty finger with policemen at the background.
The policemen were part of the security forces deployed to ensure peace and order, and public safety during the activities of the 459th Fiesta Señor and Sinulog Festival 2024.
Atty. Mel Ebo, the two students’ lawyer, disclosed that the court considered their filing of a motion to quash to have the case dismissed.
A motion to quash challenges the legal sufficiency or validity of a document or proceeding.
On January 26, 2024 during the arraignment, the policemen accepted the apology made by the two students.
It was learned that the students were able to post bail worth P3,000 on January 23, 2024.
