The body of a man who went missing in Barangay Caelayan, Cabugao, Ilocos Sur was found four days after he disappeared.

The body, already in a state of decomposition, was found near a cliff in Barangay Quezon in the same town.

The man was identified as Crispin Serna, 63. His sibling identified him positively based on the clothes on the body.

It was a minor who reportedly stumbled upon the body while trying to throw trash. He told his father immediately about what he saw and the latter contacted the police.

The victim had wounds in his neck and chest, according to the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO).

The police suspect that the body was simply dumped at the site because the area did not have traces of blood.

"Yung pinagtapunan doon ay walang bakas ng mga dugo, so posibleng itinapon lang [doon] yung bangkay," PMAJ. Ramil Llarenas, Officer-in-Charge of the Cabugao Police Station, said.

The man’s family has no idea why he was killed.

Investigation into the case is ongoing, as of this writing.

"Wino-work out natin [at] ipinai-imbestigahan natin ng maigi kung sino yung last person na nakasama nitong biktima," Llarenas added.
