A magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck Tingloy, Batangas, at 4:04 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024.
The tremor originated from tectonic activity with a depth of 13 kilometers.
The quake was also felt in other areas of Batangas.
Students were immediately evacuated from a college campus in Batangas City as precaution. They were sent home.
No injuries were reported.
The Batangas Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) is monitoring the situation and assess if the quake caused damage.
PHIVOLCS said no aftershocks are anticipated.
