<p>Two centenarians and some nonagenarians in Virac, Catanduanes were recipients of special Christmas cash gifts as a token of appreciation from the local government.</p><p>Two grandmothers, both reaching the age of 100, received a substantial cash incentive of P100,000 each, while those in their 90s were granted P10,000 each.</p><p>This initiative is part of a program aimed at recognizing and valuing the importance of senior citizens, particularly those who have reached the ages of 90 and 100.</p><p>According to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, the P100,000 cash incentive comes from the national government, while an additional P20,000 is provided by the provincial government.</p><p>"Bale po, spend po nila yung life nila, na dumating sila ng 100 years sa family nila, na happy," Jean Triumfante of Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) Virac, says.</p>
