<p>Two centenarians and some nonagenarians in Virac, Catanduanes were recipients of special Christmas cash gifts as a token of appreciation from the local government.</p><p>Two grandmothers, both reaching the age of 100, received a substantial cash incentive of P100,000 each, while those in their 90s were granted P10,000 each.</p><p>This initiative is part of a program aimed at recognizing and valuing the importance of senior citizens, particularly those who have reached the ages of 90 and 100.</p><p>According to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, the P100,000 cash incentive comes from the national government, while an additional P20,000 is provided by the provincial government.</p><p>&quot;Bale po, spend po nila yung life nila, na dumating sila ng 100 years sa family nila, na happy,&quot; Jean Triumfante of Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) Virac, says.</p>
