21 indigenous youth from Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro, crossed a makeshift bridge as part of a wedding ceremony in Sitio Tulaleng in Barangay Pagasa.

Dubbed the "Bridge of Love," the bridge was constructed using a combination of bamboo, vines, and branches. Unlike extravagant weddings, the couples opted for traditional attire.

The local government brought the couples together purposely to formalize their union through a civil wedding. It was a symbolic gesture to signify the legal recognition of their relationships.

The journey to the wedding venue was no small feat with the couples traversing a considerable distance to reach the location. Local officials stood as witnesses and godparents.

The legal recognition of their union is expected to strengthen the bond among the Batangan indigenous youth. With legitimate documentation, they now have the opportunity to avail of government benefits.
