A father’s tireless effort to bring his son to school using an old pedicab has touched hearts online and led to an unexpected Christmas gift.
Alfredo Taburada, who pedals his son Jhon Jacob to a university in Laoag City every day, became a source of inspiration after their story and photo were shared on social media.
Jhon Jacob wished for an electric bike to ease his father’s burden, and his wish came true thanks to a group of local content creators.
“Kaya naisipan ng aming grupong Front Cam na bigyan siya ng regalo ng electric bike,” JM Castillo Tan, a member of the group, said.
When the family received the surprise gift, their joy was immeasurable. Tears flowed as they expressed their gratitude.
“Nalaos la unay ti panagyaman mi kadakayo ta kasta ket masagrab mi metten daytoy nga Christmas gift mi,” Alfredo, moved by the thoughtful gesture, said.
Jhon Jacob shared how the electric bike will change their lives:
“Mas mapapadali po iyong pag-aaral ko kasi hindi na po kilo-kilometro ang dadaanan ni Papa… Yung pangarap ni Papa na magkaroon ng we-bike ay natupad na po,” he said.
This story of sacrifice and love serves as a reminder of the enduring bond between parents and children and the ripple effect of kindness.
As Jhon Jacob puts it, “Masaya po ako kasi yung tinatawag po na padyak na pangarap, magiging gulong na po ng pangarap.”
