Around 500 families from three barangays gathered for a joyful Noche Buena celebration, sharing food, laughter, and the Christmas spirit at North Central Elementary School in Dagupan City.
Families from Bonuan Gueset, Bonuan Binloc, and Bonuan Boquig came together as part of Dagupan City’s Thanksgiving Day event for underprivileged residents.
Despite life’s struggles, the holiday brought smiles to everyone’s faces.
The celebration featured a feast with various dishes, including the crowd favorite—crispy lechon.
Residents expressed heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to enjoy a festive meal with their community.
"Kahit sobrang hirap ng buhay, meron pa rin handa sa lamesa nila," KC Solis, one of the residents, said.
Mayor Belen Fernandez highlighted the importance of Noche Buena as a time for unity and joy.
"We know the meaning of Noche Buena. It is a day where people celebrate, enjoy food together," she said.
Residents also shared their simple yet meaningful wishes for the season.
"Sana maging malusog pa rin," Arnold Aficial, a resident, said.
"[Sana] masaya ang lahat at malakas ang katawan," Angelica Lanas, another resident, added.
Adding to the excitement, a special guest dressed as Santa Claus brought cheer to the event.
Even Santa had a wish of his own.
"Palaging malakas. Walang sakit buong taon," Rogelio Gubatan, who portrayed Santa, said.
