A 22-year-old graduate from Lingayen brought pride to her family and community by ranking 6th in the 2024 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination (CPALE).
For Irish Hussain, her success is not hers alone but a shared triumph with her mother, an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who is working hard to support her education.
“Dahil sa kanya marami talaga akong natutunan. Tinuruan ako ng mama ko na maging independent kaya nadala ko ‘yun hanggang sa pag-re-review ko. Sobrang thankful ako sa mama ko,” Hussain said.
Hussains’s journey to success was far from easy.
She endured challenges but remained determined to achieve her goals. This included her dream of reuniting with her mother in the Philippines.
“Nagdaan talaga ako sa tough journey, hindi madali pero rewarding,” she added.
The Kingfisher School of Business and Finance, where Hussain graduated, is also celebrating her achievement.
The institution got a 100 percent passing rate in recent CPA exams and previously produced back-to-back 10th placers.
“Nakaka-proud dahil mataas ang mga ratings nila and ang CPALE kasi ay very competitive na exam,” Octobrius Lambino, Director for Student Affairs, said.
Hussain’s story serves as a testament to the power of determination, hard work, and faith in God.
She hopes her success inspires others to pursue their dreams no matter the challenges.
